December 1, 2024A Year in Review: The Rise of Renewable Technology in 2024
December 16, 2024In today’s short blog, we take a look at the implications of an update to the building regulations on the solid fuel industry. You can find out more by visiting HETAS’s website referenced at the end of this short summary post.
The Deputy Prime Minister announced a review of these (some would argue) outdated and overly ‘complex’ regulations, that can be at the best of times hard to apply to real life situations. As an installer of solid fuel, or indeed other appliances, we are sure this has been a bugbear of yours and caused obstacles in completing the job you were hired to do.
The aim of this review is to simplify the process of Approved Documents, making them more ‘accessible’ and easier to use for everyone. A key focus of this review is at small to medium sized businesses who have previously stated that Approved Documents have caused obstacles in achieving ‘safety and compliance.’
In turn this should have a positive impact on the industry, with The Building Safety Regulator expected to create a review panel in 2025. As an industry leader, HETAS will provide ‘expert advice where needed’ to this upcoming review. And with the review expected to simplify the process of Approved Documentation, the outlook is a positive one.
