This 3-Day BPEC Air Source Heat Pump Systems course equips installers with essential skills and knowledge required to correctly design, install and maintain Heat Pump systems with confidence.
Heat pumps harness solar energy absorbed by the air or ground to heat water, providing efficient heating even in colder climates. By using electricity to convert this solar energy into practical heat, heat pumps can achieve over 400% energy efficiency, making them an environmentally and economically smart choice for homes and businesses.
The BPEC Heat Pump Systems Qualification is recognised under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), demonstrating competence in both the design and installation of heat pump systems.
Course Outline
This installer’s course enables candidates to confidently propose, survey, design and install domestic or small commercial heat pump installations.
- Heat Pumps in context
- How a Heat Pump works – principles and components
- Insulation, heat losses and the effect of heating system design
- Domestic hot water, buffer tanks and hydraulic separation
