Dramatic Increase in Qualified Heat Pump Installers
March 11, 2024The Half Way Point to Net Zero
April 3, 2024I am sure that the majority of you now know what net zero is, but you might be wondering why we are always banging on about it in our blog posts. That is a fair question, as it is still a relatively new concept to grasp, and we understand that it might get frustrating to feel like changes are being forced on you.
In light of this, in today’s blog we are going to talk more about net zero, and why it is something that you should embrace as a plumber or electrician and not resist.
A Definition:
‘Net Zero’ is quite simply an agreement and commitment of governments to ‘reduce fossil fuels’ in an effort to combat climate change. This agreement also emphasises the importance of implementing these changes by 2050, to steer clear of the worst possible scenarios brough about by global warming. I am not going to bore you with the science behind greenhouse gasses, as I am sure you can still remember from school, but to put it short greenhouse gases increase the temperature of the earth and with less trees able to absorb it due to deforestation, these gasses are expelled into the atmosphere.
Preventative Measures:
The government is implementing many changes to help it reach its targets and commitment to net zero. As you will have seen from our previous blogs, these changes are almost all centered around implementing alternative renewable energies, such as the target to install ‘600,000 heat pumps by 2028.’ (“What Is Net Zero and How Are the UK and Other Countries Doing?,” 2023)
The switch to renewable energy may be the source of concern to some of you, but it doesn’t have to be. The governments ambitious targets means there is going to be a huge uptake in the amount of installers needed to carry out the governments plans for net zero. Here at GRE, we are committed to providing the highest quality of training to ensure you are fully equipped to take advantage of the upcoming gold rush (and of course contribute to net zero.) As a qualified plumber or electrician, you have everything required to start you renewable journey today.
Why GRE?
We are proud to offer one of the widest varieties of renewable energy courses in the UK, and have some of the most experienced trainers available. Our training academy facilitates both theory based and practical learning, and we have achieved a 98% pass rate across all of our courses as a whole.
