Renewable Barriers to Entry Set to Be Removed
February 20, 2024Dramatic Increase in Qualified Heat Pump Installers
March 11, 2024The world of solid fuels is an exciting one at the moment, with lots going on both externally and internally at GRE. The appliance is interlinked with environmental targets, and HETAS have stated in their most recent newsletter that they have been heavily involved in the discussion of air quality with the government. In today’s blog, we delve into all things solid fuel, and discuss what we are doing at GRE to accommodate the uptake in interest.
The external environment is of course always changing, however one thing is for sure, the government is ‘not considering a ban on domestic burning in England’ (under The Environmental Improvement Plan of 2023) (Allen, 2024.) This is obviously great news, and it shows the governments understanding of the importance of solid fuels for households in the UK. In turn, this means that as an installer or consumer, you shouldn’t worry about the appliance going anywhere. In a previous blog, we looked at some of the benefits of solid fuels to the consumer, and its USP (unique selling point.) These factors are still prevalent, and have only been increased with the current economic climate. Due to the governments environmental plans, it is more important than ever to follow regulations, maintain ‘good practices,’ provide quality installations, and encourage clean burning habits (Allen, 2024.) HETAS allows you to meet these standards, being a ‘certification body to represent the industry,’ (Allen, 2024) and is why here at GRE we take pride in providing one of the most extensive range of HETAS courses in England.
We have put more resources into HETAS here at GRE to meet the current uptake in interest in the industry, and have done so by increasing the potential capacity on our courses, improving our practical set up, and introducing additional rigs for our recently introduced H001+ course which is designed for those with no prior experience in solid fuels. The team is committed to helping ensure these good practices are met, and our expert trainer Keith upholds these standards with the upmost importance. Come and see our excellent facilities for yourself, which facilitate both theoretical and practical learning.
