Solar PV Growth is on Track
October 30, 2023The USP of Solid Fuel:
As the weather changes, more people will be looking to solid fuel appliances to provide warmth in their homes. Now, you might be thinking to yourself, “yes that’s true but there are so many ways to heat a home, why solid fuel?” That in itself is not a bad question, you are right there are many ways you can now heat your home. However, you have missed the point of the appliance, as they provide more than just a functional benefit to the customer. Fitting a wood burning appliance for example, provides ambiance and a certain aesthetic to the household, thus providing a unique selling point when compared with other heating systems.
The Benefits to the Home:
Above has identified the unique selling point of the appliance, we will now take a look at some of the benefits. The first relates to the cost of heating a single room with solid fuel, which is ‘usually cheaper than by oil or gas’ (WORRIED ABOUT HIGH WINTER HEATING COSTS ? Here Are Just Some of the Benefits of Solid Fuel and Wood Heating Systems:, n.d.) The second benefit relates to the multi-functional purpose of the appliance, which means they can burn different types of fuel including coal, wood and pellets. Last but not least, there is said to be an environmental benefit from the release of carbon dioxide from solid fuel appliances whilst burning, which is said to be ‘similar to that absorbed during the growth cycle of the tree or plant’ (Home Guide to Solid Fuel Appliances, n.d.)
Get Involved:
This is the perfect time to get involved in the industry, and we have a variety of HETAS courses that relate to the appliance. You can view them all by clicking here.
