GRE Energy Training delivers a comprehensive Solar Thermal Systems course, designed in response to the increasing demand for solar hot water solutions and the continued growth of renewable technologies within the heating sector.
This course provides a solid understanding of solar thermal systems and supports installers and professionals seeking to expand their knowledge of renewable hot water technologies and work towards industry-recognised standards, including the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
Course Overview
This 2-day theory-based course provides the same core content as the 3-day qualification, condensed into a shorter format for experienced installers.Â
It is ideal for operatives who are already confident with installation practices.Â
The course focuses on North European fluid-filled, indirect solar water heating systems, commonly used in domestic and small commercial applications.

Entry Requirements
Candidates must be an experienced installer and have one of the following:

A minimum NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing or Heating Engineering, or
-
At least 3 years’ demonstrable industry experience
Plus:

Water Regulations/Byelaws certification
-
Unvented Hot Water (G3) certification
Part L is advisory for MCS registration but is not a requirement to attend this course.
Duration: 2 days (theory-based, no practical training or assessment)
