Figures have been released that show a major increase in the amount of applications received for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, in comparison to February last year. The figures report a 75% increase in applications received, which is largely due to the 50% increase in heat pump grants made available to the public (Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, 2024.) This demonstrates a shift in consumer behaviour and acceptance of heat pumps, which again has been heavily influenced by government grants which allow families to upgrade their heating systems without ‘breaking the bank’ (Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, 2024.)

The uptake in applications also follows an upgrade of the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. The changes introduced mean that there will be no need to ‘install cavity wall or loft insulation’ (Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, 2024.)  in order to use the scheme, which of course will further reduce costs.

The Rub:

The above of course makes it much easier for you to get work as an installer, as more installers will be needed to satisfy the thousands of applicants received monthly, but how else can you sell heat pumps?
